The Home Preservation Exchange (HPE) is a nonprofit collaborative of state officials, nonprofit leaders and private investors focused on stabilizing neighborhoods and by so doing, revitalizing the housing sector. HPE enables delinquent and at risk borrowers to avoid foreclosure and, in most instances, stay in their homes by helping pre-vetted investors acquire their notes for purposes of implementing neighborhood stabilization solutions. HPE, a non-profit membership organization, develops note acquisition opportunities, organizes special purpose entities to bid on notes, liaisons with state and federal governments to help winning investors leverage Hardest Hit and other resource dollars. HPE serves as the strategic “bridge” that allows private, nonprofit and public stakeholders to collectively galvanize their competencies to advance neighborhood stabilization.
